Folkitory's AI Policy
I have a zero-tolerance policy on Gen AI.
Not only is Gen AI ruining our world through data centres, and ruining our minds by destroying our skill levels, it’s only trained on stolen materials.
And I don’t steal from my fellow creatives.
Unfortunately, due to being in my forties and having been raised on incredibly talented creative work, I can’t always spot AI straight away.
Which only means that I am now mistrusting of everything, and is why every ghostly illustration you see in and on Folkitory is drawn from scratch by me!
And yes, the software I use to create the podcast does have AI features, but I specifically go out of my way to avoid them. Every episode is edited manually.Â
What about the music and sounds used on the podcast? I avoid the AI tagged ones like hot coals, but if they’re AI and not tagged… Well, I am human and humans make mistakes. At some point, there has to be some trust and I’m aware that there are people out there who will take advantage of that trust.Â
If I use something you know to be AI, please inform me and I’ll immediately throw it out the window.
Otherwise, rest assured that when you buy Folkitory merch, listen to the podcast, read the articles or hire me as a freelancer, everything is human crafted.
